What the postman brought today (Armorama)

Nice kit! I’ve thought about adding one!

Any import fees from Aussie? I’ve been thinking of ordering from BNA

Don’t know what the import fee situation is so can’t speak to it, but BNA is a really first rate outfit to buy from.

Total shipping was $16.00+ change which seems reasonable to N.Carolina

My first PT-76 kit. Has the correct high hull for a Model 1958.

When AK interacive goes for support vehicles, why no ROBUR LO 2002?:

The VBCI is probably Hellers best kit.

Well the postie brought a couple of parcels today.

A very large box with this inside;

Not sure why AFV Club decided on such a large box with the spures floating around inside.
Then we have tracks for the M1IP and some Finnish tank crew for the Soviet ball tank.

Lastly some reference material, I don’t read German except what you pick up over the years building German models and doing research but the pictures are in universal and smart phones have a camera translator thing.

Good choice on books Luciano, you can never go wrong with Motorbuch Verlag.

Those are really good. Not too tricky to build and very easy to have fully workable. I’ve used a number of track sets from this series in those brown boxes, and would recommend all of them.

@HermannB I thought I’d better get some reference material on the NVA as I now have a few builds in the pile. A quick skim through and I can see more of the builds that weren’t going to be NVA now going the NVA route!

@Jakko Yes they are good, I used the T-72 set on my Tamiya build and they were very good. I already have another set for another Tamiya T-72 even though I don’t yet have the tank! Shame Trumpeter don’t do a set for their BMP-1, as the tracks that come with the kit are not the best fitting.

This title arrived today from Casemate Publishers for me to read and review for them.

I have a similar Magach kit from AFV club and I agree the box is comically big. It’s probably in the top 3-4 biggest boxes and I have some 1/48 bombers and some 1/350 ships

I have the impression that most of these track sets are actually by another company originally, and Trumpeter’s parent company just bought them/the moulds. I’m not sure I’m right in thinking that, but the quality of all of these sets I’ve used has been so far ahead of what I expect from Trumpeter/Hobby Boss/I  Kit that it’s immediately noticeable …

@Littorio, If your interested in more NVA literature, I can recommend FAHRZEUG Profile brochures.

@HermannB Danke Hermann, I have my eye the the artillery book in the same series as the ones I received already but I’ll look into the ones you’ve pointed out.

In the mean time a parcel arrived from Italy and another from a few miles away.
Another BMP-1 for the BRM-1K NVA conversion

And something counter Soviet

Well just looking through a Trumpeter 2025/26 catalog and found Trumpeter do a set of BMP-1 workable tracks and a set for the PT-76 as well. I’m going to have to search for these as I’ve never seen them for sale.

That’s correct. Many of them were originally issued by Armour Track Models back in the 2000s.

Armour Track Models (HK)

But to be fair to Trumpeter, they continued the line and many of their own-tool sets are also very high quality.

Ah, yes, I thought I remembered something like that but wasn’t sure.
