What the postman brought today (Armorama)

P.M. Knight’s latest book, on the A11 Infantry Tank Mk. I, AKA Matilda. Among many other details about its development and combat use, most important is that it conclusively proves the origin of the name

In a sale and couldn’t resist, especially as my favourite camo is on box side!

It would make a stunning Berlin Brigade wagon - the turret is impressively big! I put mine on an M60 hull, with the Chiefy parts destined to become a “wedge” driver trainer. I have a second Marksman turret that will grace a Leopard 1 hull when I get round to it…

Thanks for posting the side profile pic as I did not know about the MARKSMAN in the famous Berlin Brigade colors. I will have to grab one in next round of SB lighting sale.

The turret on m60 hull is very cool Tom @barkingdigger I have plans to build a sgt York in the future too. Always had an inkling to have a shelf of anti aircraft tanks.

The Berlin scheme is a what if but the option in the kit is enough for me Mike @Stryker45 You are lucky with the lightning sales over there. Managed to find this for £37.50 posted which is pretty good on this side of the pond.

Wish I’d had it at the same time I built the mk10 in Berlin camo, and could have had interchangeable turrets, could never match the finish now. Actually, have another mk10 in the stash… oh dear, almost doubled the work!

Ah, I see but you are right it looks cool enough to build one

Just arrived on a not so slow plane from China, and Spain. 50 No11 blades, 2 sheets of lead foil, a sanding block for exterior curves (think barrels) and a fine glass sanding stick and case for model transparencies/canopies.

I only know a picture with the turret fittet on an M48.
If you want to rebuild this, the back of the turret needs some modification to the Chieftain one.
Not to mention that Takom did not replicate the armour panels on the front. (Quick fix) Which are shown on every picture I could find about the Marksman.

What’s the costs of the blades, not that I haven’t got hundreds.

They were £2.88 for 50. I’ve opened a packet and they are stamped Swann Morton but packaged differently, so may be real or knock off. They are certainly sharp enough.

Arrived yesterday from eBay pleased I went ahead and placed an order. €42 plus €11 for postage like what I see in the box.

Today the postman delivered one of the sexiest beasties to ever roam the battlefield…

…received a very nasty letter from the Panzer Police, seems I’ve purchased and assembled too many Sherman’s this year, am on probation and a write up will go in my “permanent folder” so to recover good standing…

…this was picked from an individual for old for sale items…first of the brand ever purchased even second hand…

…the M60A1 ERA wanted a Pop-A-Top practice partner…

…didn’t like RFM’s kit tracks so rolled the dice on these…

The Takom M60A1ERA is a very nice kit. I built it as well as the version with the dozer blade. No issues as I recall.
