Go together well, no clean up, pins full length from both sides, the last mm makes the tight fit no glue, also fit an IDF Namer sprocket ![]()
Let’s see. At the moment it will be stored. No priority on my build list. But i have some Ideas in mind. The web is full with pics of battered examples. Could look cool as a rusty bit. Or a civil used vehicle with faded yellow or orange color and some purpose related modifications.
For a model I have in mind, I needed an M4A4 Sherman lower hull, which I ended up buying as a separate sprue straight from Asuka in Japan. Because of the postage costs, I ended up adding a set of British accessories and a full kit:
The little Gifts bag at lower right contains three turned-brass bolts by Adler’s Nest, presumably as a sampler to try and make me buy more. I’m sure they’ll come in handy at some point.
Got this on one of those flash sales on Sprue Bros. What’s with the giant box?
Just for a size comparison I placed this on top corner to corner on the top left and you can see how massive the VVSS kit box is. And it’s no just length and width as this new box is also over an inch taller too. Looking at the sprues they included a lot of trees from the HVSS kit including almost an entire HVSS suspension! Probably just for a few small parts but it explains why the box has to be bigger.
Another Amazon delivery landed at my doorstep…

Well, it had to happen:
Not for the faint-hearted perhaps:
I was surprised to learn from Tankograd that these were deployed in Europe:
(‘Hope Tankograd don’t mind my extolling their virtues; ‘love the sinister presence of the M65 in the background of this pic).
Anyway, that’s where I’ll be heading with this one, in due course.
They look nice mate ….. whats the damage on them ? do they Cr1 ones ?
Thats really reasonable … and they sound good.
If you need details on the M56, I’ve got a TM for it that may have answers — just ask ![]()
Thanks very much - it certainly looks like a bit of a challenge. I just didn’t want to wait though I won’t be tackling it just yet; I blame Tankograd.
You just know now that Takom will bring one out in the next couple of months!
Anyway, thanks for the offer; I’ll bear it in mind.
That open-top M56 looks like a lot of fun to crew in European autumn/winter!…
Knowing German winters as I do - I agree!
You are starting the make me jealous! I am a big fan of all the reconnaissance tanks from German ww2. Whenever I have time, I try to research more about these tanks and try to find good photos.
My big dream is to build some of them one day, but I have to finish my panther first before I start something else ![]()
What is the quality of the sets you got (sorry, I am not familiar with all the brands yet).
