Wild Weasel 2023

It looks very good, John! The cockpit glazing is the pain of some many kits. Often there are fit issues and that is so difficult to fix on clear parts.

The end result looks like it is ready to go knock out some Iraqi tanks or AD installations :slightly_smiling_face:

Congrats on finishing! :raised_hands:t2::slightly_smiling_face:

Looks really nice! Are you sure about the exhaust inner color?

I think someone may be correct :see_no_evil:

I will still call it done … but change the inner colour to a more suitable look … :+1:

(this is the first time i looked at the inner colour … whoops)

It looks really good. The washes have really worked well on it. I often end up with dull looking finishes when I ever I do these all over grey schemes, so I definitely think this is a technique to use to bring them to life more.

Thanks Stephen & Nikos.

I wanted to try a really light wash to just give the impression of some dust and grime … a few back to back missions without any real clean up time …

Looks great indeed, John! The paint job went very well in the end.
BTW, when I encounter those gaps of canopies I usually fill them with Micro Kristal Klear and when dry, overpaint them. This helps a lot IMHO.
Anyway, an excellent build!
Cheers
Peter

Thanks Peter, and that sounds like an excellent plan about the canopy gaps. A few people have talked about this micro clear so I may have to invest in some now :+1:

If it’s only for gap-filling, I think you can just use white glue. Kristal Klear is clear when dried, so you can use it for lenses or small windows.

Looks like it’s going to be a very nice weasel… :+1:

That’s going to look great! I take it these are 91 Desert Storm aircraft?

And a timely reminder that I have neglected my build.

Great choice, welcome aboard.

Hoping there is a seat left, the box says Wild Weasel, so I guess it will fit the bill…
