My biggest issue with the Dragon M48A5 is, as you state, the price tag. In my area when I can find it, it’s priced over $100 which seems steep for what it is. I’m hoping someone like Meng or Takom take on it on around a $50 tag.
In terms of the leopard, maybe it was the 2A6M that leopard club said had issues. Maybe I need to re-read the 2A4M review
I built the 2A4M, it’s a decent kit, comes with photoetch and all that. I’m no expert, but it looks like a Leo. The tracks on it are way too overengineered, and the barrel is two-piece so I’d highly recommend a metal barrel and vinyl tracks if you ever want to pick it up.
CUCV/ M880 in plastic
Bedford MK/RL in plasti
M5/M9 halftrack in olastic. Had hoped these would come from AFV Club.
Mack NO/NM/ NR/ LMSW in plastic
Chieftain ARRV.
And while we are here, I wish THAT Revell would update their Unimog kits with better cabs, wheels and more body options.
And a new tool Opel maultier nebelwerfer. Loads of paper panzer, but not this ?
A updated and accurate M50A1 Ontos, preferably by Tamiya.
M4 Sherman DD (U.S. and British versions).
LVTP-7 with full interior, the early version with the circular headlight recesses.
A new, accurate M103A1, again preferably by Tamiya.
SU-100, WWII version with full interior.
Mostly, I want the Ontos. I’ve been on an over 1 year hiatus from working on a full interior version of the Academy kit… what a slog! Nearly everything is inaccurate, and I have no idea yet as to how I’m going to correct the suspension ‘sit’ issue.
Just looking back through this thread and was surprised by the number of wishes that have been either released or announced
Challenger, Leopard 2 variants by RFM,
Borders Kodiak (albeit only and announcement)
M113s from AFV Club,
Takoms recent teasers on the M114,
Typhoon series,
Recently announced Unimog S404- I know not an AFV as such.
Can’t help but hope next year will be as fruitful for wishlists.
The DAF trucks are in the process of being released as limited run resin kits by a Dutch modeller. The 314, 328 and the 616 family will be released this year. The YA126 has been released a few months ago. A number of other trucks have already been released as ready made models, but the ones that are coming out now are also available as resin kits. A must have for any Dutch army enthousiasts! Just send me a PM and I will send his email for more information.
Couldn’t agree more with you, Paul. Many wishes fulfilled, and we are so spoiled, aren’t we? I feel like the last 10 years have given us more wish fulfilments than I’ve seen in 30 years prior.
One can only hope the manufacturers take note of threads like this, and recognise the market’s wishes. Who better knows what the market wants than the consumer themself.
Jasper, thanks, I have ordered a few of them, picked up the 126 last weekend, am getting the 328 this weekend, but those are the resin models, I would love to see them as normal models, to build them…
Ajax IFV
Crotale launcher
The new Pantsir S2M launcher
Lynx IFV
Challenger 3
Also i’d like Trumpeter to come out with the Topol-M as theyve been promising for ages. That’s going to be a beast of a kit.
…but most of all a Bedford M series. The resin one is impossible to find and we need a plastic one. Trumpeter making one of these would pretty much make my year. Iconic.
John I bid for stuff on Evil-bay and I use Gixen sniping software which costs next to nothing for a years subscription.
Basically you tell it the maximum price you are willing to bid.
It waits until the last few seconds and puts a bid of £1 more than the highest bid so far followed by another if needed. I have my first bid set to 6 seconds before the auction ends and another if needed 2 seconds later. The seperate bids are sent from different servers so Evil-bay’s software will treat them as seperate bidders.
