Your figure just keeps improving!

Love that base design! :smiling_imp:

Catching up quick with the comments Guys. Going full tilt here at the hobby bench. Times running out. Hahahaha!!!

Karl187, thanks for the compliment. I wanted a derelict look to the base. Spares box came in handy.

Striker, thanks for the nice comment. Yes, unfortunately, these bugs don’t inspire a hardy painting session.

justsendit, I’m glad you like the Space Hulk base. Thanks.

Das ist Alles!!! Time to get back to the bench. Keep having a blast, Guys!!!

Final on my Tyranid entry. Added all the extras to the base. I’m happy with the derelict look to it. But…watch out for that unexploded missile sticking up through the deck. Hahahahahahaha!!!

Well, this competes my 3rd figure for the Warhammer 40K, Alien-Scum series. I have the 4th entry underway. The Eldar, a type of highly advanced, hostile, Space Elf. Thanks for viewing. Comments and questions are always welcomed.

Love the finished piece mate! Damn those xeno colors really pop so very nicely against that grey tones of the base- all the details on the Tyranid are well brought out too- all the sinews and ridges are visible! Gotta’ love that big missile with the red nose-cone- a superb little touch for the base.

I’m going to have to bow out.
Unfortunately my figure has gone AWOL. Was planning to get some paint on him today and he’s vanished. I think he’s fallen down the back of the desk so I’m going to have to move a lot of stuff to look.
Looking forward to seeing everyone else’s projects completed.

Oh no that’s terrible! I hope you can find him soon.

I have finally remembered to take pictures of the progress I’ve made. I set the figure aside for a while and then recently picked it back up. I reworked the face with some oils, painted the pants and boots, and redid the helmet. I also painted his rifle and bayonet, but I need to glue both on. I also need to add a flat coat and paint his cook pot. I apologize for the long wait since my last post but I have no other excuse other than I lost interest for a time and promptly forgot.

I can extend out the due date to assist with lost time.

Thanks I’m going to have a look tomorrow for him. I thought I’d put him in the box with the rest of the kit, but no luck.

My figure is done. Well, after looking at these pics I decided to tidy up a couple more bits on them.

Now to paint it. I should be able to get that done in the next two weeks.

I’ve finally gotten some time to work on the two figures. Here’s where they stand. The heads are nearly ready to go; they just need a flat coat. I’m fairly happy with them. I used Vallejo acrylics and some AK washes.

The bodies are a few steps behind; they are waiting for a gloss coat, washes, and a final flat coat. I mixed the colors for the UCP camo using AK 3G paints, which I found to be surprisingly good. They cover well, flow easily, and are forgiving.

After an initial failed attempt to brush paint the pattern on, I ended up using sponges to get that pixelated look. I overpainted the Shinsengumi decals with a diluted green to bring the decals into rough alignment with the colors I used for the rest of the figure and it seems to have worked. I left the CrossDelta decals alone, as they look like an old, faded pair of pants (and they won’t be seen once the figures are in the Abrams).

I think the figures look good enough, but welcome any comments and suggestions, as this is the first time I’ve mixed colors and tried my hand at a pixelated camo pattern.

I didn’t realize that the pattern was painted on at first! I had to read through your post and I think you did a great job.

Very convincing looking camo Lucas- both painted and decal camos look spot on.

With the hectic pace of the holidays, an extension to the campaign’s end date would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

They’ve turned out fantastic, congratulations on finishing. I like the loose rock around the ground work too. Very effective.

I’m happy to report that I found my missing man hiding between some boxes. I really should tidy up my work area. If I get a spare couple of minutes this weekend I’ll get some paint on him.

The sponge trick worked, looks great. I’d go bonkers trying to do this camo pattern, which is why I haven’t painted any large-scale figs with these camo patterns. I’m not sure how well the sponge trick would work on 1/16th, but I may have to try that. Faces looks great, too, btw.

Yes, run with that one, it looks like it’s got lots of potential!

Any decision on extending the campaign end date. I have one figure left to do for my Xeno-Scum series. A week or 2 would be good…a month best.
Thanks.
