i see you still use the good old testors tube glue. me too, i thing it is better at joining most small parts and such. i only use the liquid glue to join fuselage and wings, and to make sprue goo of course.

Joe

Yes I still like and use Testors B14
The deck installed to the hull then the deck markings applied. I like to put the markings on early so I don’t break off or damage guns etc.

The 5 in guns and the 25mm guns installed. I replaced the kit triple 25mm guns with dual 25mm guns because the TROM at Kido Butai says that she had the duals until mid 43 and I replaced the single 5in with duals based on what little info that is available (the single were WAAY over scale)

The Oscars painted a base coat of silver. The documentation I’ve found says that they were painted shades of green. either solid or blotch, over bare aluminum

Well, this is a wrap for this fantastic campaign. I was hoping to get the Miniart M3 Lee done, but could not. This KV was gifted to me from a good modeling friend a few years ago and thought this would be a good substitute as a “thank you” for this kit.

I really enjoy the Trumpeter KV series of tanks. The build was straight forward and painting this was a pleasure. I used AK Interactive Real Color 4BO and assorted pigments throughout. AK Interactive was used for the dark streaks on the turret sides and several places received a light oil wash.

I made only a few minor modifications on this one. I hollowed out the air vents on either side and added etched screen and as you can see from the bottom pic, added wiring for the horn and headlight. Decals went on without a problem using Micro Set (blue label) and Micro Sol (red label) with no silvering. I did add aftermarket tracks I found buried in my stash of aftermarket stuff. However, the Trumpeter tracks (link and length) are quite good, but I wanted to start reducing my aftermarket stash.

This was a fantastic campaign and a hearty “thank you” to the one who proposed it and of course, all who participated. All the entries were at a top level and hopefully they will win awards as they should, in upcoming shows.

Hope everyone has a happy, joyous and restful Christmas holiday and a prosperous New Year 2025.

Cheers!

Looks good. Thanks

I haven’t had that much spare time this year, too busy with 1:1 scale aircraft, but I did finish this and used it to play with some weathering products. Airfix 1:76 German recon set, old kit, not much detail and fits are only fair but it was quite fun.

Meanwhile TLCA17 my LCT(1) has taken a back seat while I worked on LCG19 now almost complete but a 1943 ship

Finished: Tamiya Sd.Kfz. 232 Armored Radio Car

This represents a Sd. Kfz. 232 belonging to 15th Panzer Division during the see-saw battle for North Africa in 1942. The vehicle wears 1942/1943 Africa camouflage in a subtle mottled pattern. This means it is probably a vehicle supplied in late 1941 or 1942 to replace losses. While not based on a specific photo, I tried to get it close.

Thank you for the campaign. :slightly_smiling_face:
