3D prints and CADs Part 2 - by petition2God

Fairly satisfied with these revised tires for M101 howitzer:

Comparison between the new and the previous 3D print:

M113A2/3 drive wheels:

The torus (donut shape) is a bit too tall - Will revise this in the next print.

US tanker heads (modern and WWII) in 1/35 - these are from CGtrader.com. A little too shiny b/c haven’t UV cured them yet.

Fine work as usual. Have you thought about adding the weight bulge to the tires like DEF model does?

For these howitzer wheels, I’ll just sand down the bottom a little to look more realistic. I did not want to make 2 different versions of the tire by adding weighted bulge shape. I may add them if I do tires for heavy vehicles but doing so requires a bit more work - to avoid the repeated uniform, artificial look, I’d have to make individual various bulges. Don’t think that’s worth the effort for my personal use. Maybe in the future if I decide to sell the tires.

M88 ARV light guard CAD done. 3D printing tonight.

I like FDM printing better than SLA (resin) printing now - although slower, it’s less messy, less clean-up, less toxic, and more environmentally friendly.

Those look great. :+1:

Hi fellow modelers,
Ever since I stopped selling my 3D prints, some kept asking to make the STLs available for purchase. I did not feel like posting them because it’s time-consuming, not much $ in return, and didn’t feel like giving 20% to Cults3D for almost robbery.
I finally gave in however and posted some (only 7 dedicated to 1/35 armor modeling for now) on cults3d as an experiment for some tiny passive income. I have listed them for cheap (between 4.99 USD and 9.99 USD) AND I’m including commercial and personal use licenses so once you buy them, do whatever you want to do with them - print, sell, etc.
I may or may not post more depending on how people buy these things…

https://cults3d.com/en/users/petition2God/creations

So the posted files are:

  1. M88 ARV light guard
  2. Modern spring antenna matching units (straight and bent versions)
  3. M1 Abrams road wheel
  4. Leopard 2A5/6 commander’s periscope
  5. M48 suspension arms
  6. Modern US vehicle heavy duty tow bar
  7. WWII USMC jerry can

I hope you find some of these helpful to your hobby needs. Thanks for your support.

Are these made for Tamiya/Academy M113s or for the AFV Club M113?

These look great.

Originally had Academy/Tamiya kits replacement in mind but the sizes can be adjusted to fit AFV C kits, too.

The drive sprockets for the newer T150 tracks will come in handy for the newer M113 builds. I hate how Tamiya designed the rear idler wheel on their M113s (prefer the Academy ones).

Was wondering how those light guards were going to fair as they were removed from the supports. Good Job!
