Interested in 3D printing, but have some newbie questions

I’m thinking of getting a resin 3D printer (right now I’m leaning toward the Elegoo Mars 5 Ultra), but have several questions that I’d like answers to before I pull the trigger. I’m hoping you all can help me out. The only place I can realistically set up the printer and wash station is the unfinished part of my basement, which has no windows or venting. DE Haviland DH.89 bomber conversion parts

I was converting Heller’s old DH.89 kit to a Spanish Civil War Republican bomber for the and there were two parts that I couldn’t find. The top and bottom mounted machine guns and the bombs and rack. From reference photos I could find, it looks like the guns were Vickers Type F (WW1 era) and British Cooper bombs and rack from a Sopwith Camel (also WW1 era). Looking around for free or even paid models I couldn’t find what I needed, so it looked like I would have to model them myself. The machin…

Here’s a quick rundown on pros and cons:

1. I spent about $300 on equipment.
2. To do fine details needed for models you need to use resin which is toxic and requires good ventilation and handling procedures.
3. At minimum you will need to learn how to do slicing and adding supports using the software included with the printer.
4. If you don’t want to rely only on available free or purchasable models, you will have to learn some basics in 3D modelling software.
5. The software I use is available for Mac (Chitubox and Blender)
