Biplanes and Other Rigged Aircraft

There’s already a pretty good page geared to explaining pros and cons for 3D printing already:

I also posted my 3D mods to the DH.89 and included some details on my process at the end.

Here’s a quick rundown on pros and cons:

  1. I spent about $300 on equipment.
  2. To do fine details needed for models you need to use resin which is toxic and requires good ventilation and handling procedures.
  3. At minimum you will need to learn how to do slicing and adding supports using the software included with the printer.
  4. If you don’t want to rely only on available free or purchasable models, you will have to learn some basics in 3D modelling software.
  5. The software I use is available for Mac (Chitubox and Blender)

Let me know if you have any more questions!
