Thats looking nice Richard. Very effective. I am beginning to become a fan of the Maultier after doing mine in the Miniart build - that flat bed gives you lots of options.
Here is my SU-85. This was a great kit. The only knock was the wheels which are kind of wobbly. I’m not sure wheels are supposed to be held in place by the tracks?
Not sure about the fitting of the wheels and tracks but they all look good to me Phil. White finish looks great and nicely faded in certain areas for the wear and tear.
Yup…looks really good, Phil!
I’m hoping I can get my Maultier half track finished this weekend!
Came out very nice Phil

Looks cool (excuse the pun). Great finish and nice build.
That looks great! The photo looks perfect as well! But isnt the snow a bit out of scale…
Here’s the Maultier w/ 3.7cm AAA gun! I have three words: Magic Tracks SUCK!!
I’ve gotta put the mud flaps on; but I’m calling this one done!
That looks very good Gulf!
That looks really good, but the gun looks bigger than the truck! Did they fire that thing from back there or is it just getting carried to a new location? Very convincing white camo.
Thanks! I wanted it to look like it had been applied in the field some time ago so it wasn’t pristine.
I don’t know if they fired the gun from the back. The vehicle is sturdy enough so it possible that they could have.
Now that’s a Technical!
The model looks sweet, definitely like it
It is amazing what one can buy these days regarding wheathering and such, love the snow!
Having built 3 panzer 1 chassis vehicles with Magic Tracks. I hear you, but I have three other words too - “DS are worse!”
The itty bitty Magic tracks are a bit of a trial to keep inline but the bigger ones are more manageable.
Okay, my start pic.
I was going to do this Irish vehicle, a part of the UNIFIL mission, as Echelon do decals for it, but the rear end in the pic seems to be very different to the kit one. This vehicle seems to almost be a hybrid of the AML 90 and Eland with a flat rear and horizontal deck, as opposed to the recessed sloped rear normally seen on AML 90’s and depicted in the Takom kit. Obviously these vehicles were upgraded over time.and they have been part of UNIFIL for the 23 years the mission has been in operation… and I do not have any references for that to scratch build the rear.
So I am going to do a more generic version based on this pic:
Photos of these vehicles used by the Irish in Lebanon are rare, but this seems old enough to be a ‘pre-modification’ version. That is my story anyway, and I am sticking to it. I have some UN decals from a AFV Club Scimitar in the stash, which will do although they are a little different, so I can save some money and not get the Echelon ones.
Cest La vie.
Looking forward to it Peter! Sadly I have to many WIPs to start my AML-90.
( Four different Shermans, a Pz.iii, USS Cobia and the list goes on…)
Starting a kit is not a problem… finishing them is…
