I think Allied, (definitely US forces used orange air recognition panels from just before or after D Day, so I would imagine other countries must of copied the idea from then till now ?
I thought I saw orange sheets on IDF vehicles …
And it’s all clear !! Thanks bro!
Looks awesome @gtdeath13! I just bought the same set for mine.
Do you think its possible to sand down the stowage/rear rack part so it could fit in the kit rack?
Why would you do that? The rack rail is molded in resin and the grilles are supplied as pe.
Because mine is already painted and weathered and I don’t feel brave enough to rip the rack off this far into the build.
I do not think you can use the one piece resin rack because of the wind sensor, the antenna and smoke canister. The antenna and smoke canister are molded in resin but the wind sensor is not.
You can use the extra stowage supplied to fill the rack:
Yea thats true, thanks Nikos!
That’s looking great Nikos. The stowage really lifts it up… It looks a pretty extensive set of resin, is it a Legend set ? I always want to try one, but the cost makes me cry lol…
yeap, it is Legend resin, I used to buy those from Luckymodel, that had much lower prices than the EU stores but unfortunately the Greek post office had a change of policy and now it is not cost effective to buy anything outside the EU
Is anyone else building a Shot Kal Gimel from AFV Club?
I can sense a big warning coming …??
just a couple of corrections
@Bison126 Do you remember how you built the conduit cover on the glacis plate? I mean the small square with the four boltheads of the top left side.
Nikos
I just added a rectangle of plastic card with the 4 bolts made from styrene rod.
Olivier
I did the same but there is indeed a part in the kit for that, P53, it was added in the instructions of the TYPE II kit Shot Kal Gimel kit that AFV released later. The later kit also shows the correct commander’s cupola MG mount. The mount both AFV Club and Amusing Hobby show in their instructions is incorrect but the correct parts are included in the kit. The mount shown in the original AFV Club instructions and Amusing Hobby is suitable for a Shot Kal during the YKW and was later replaced.
It is an M1919A6 .30 Browning LMG. Dates from the end of WW2 as an attempt by the US to turn the .30 into an “LMG”
