Convoy! Part 2

Thought I could knock this one out in a month. Now there is one month left. Cannot even remember what I was doing. Probably the box sitting beneath the Saab Drakken. Some kind of truck. Must… Overcome… Apathy…

That’s okay. I’ve managed to lose the data on my Campaigns spreadsheet. I’m not even sure what campaigns I’m in right now or the ones I’ve signed up for.

That’s why you hit the bookmark button at the bottom of the campaign thread.

I also keep a list of my campaigns on a note card.

But it is buried under a pile of other note cards.

Time to Accessorise!

Spent some time making, casting, priming and painting the extras to go with the Scammell. I finally put some paint on the dash and steering wheel, so when all this is finished and added to the cargo bed, I can put the roof and cab on and start the final build process.

Location of the handles on the cylinders was not clear from the instructions. I found a set that Accurate Armour did, and it seems the handles should be closer to the centre of the lid… oh well, I’ll live with that as it was a right pain getting them all evenly spaced as they are!

That sucks but you reminded me to look at my spreadsheet.

I am in better shape than expected. The model I am building for this campaign is almost completely built and ready to paint. So…guess I better start painting. :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

Update on my Sd.Kfz 7. Just laid a matte coat on everything. Need to add the wheels/track, do some final weathering/touch-up, mount it to the base, and then blend it all together by 5/30.

Hey gang, with just under a month to go I count only two builds completed! Is everyone else still on track for the end of the month? I plan to set up a Convoy! Part 3 campaign, and anything “left over” from Pt2 can be completed in Pt3 for a badge. But I can also extend this Pt2 by a month if that would help…

I believe I will be done with my kit if not the base I’m also making for it

Not sure if I was one of the showing completed, but just in case.

It won’t hurt. I was just looking at my Pt 1 build in the box and she needs the time.

Looking forward to pt3.

I’m afraid my build has bogged down. Between work, physical therapy, and the horrible fit of the kit, I have not gone past building the frame and suspension of my HEMTT. Even with another month I won’t be able to finish, particularly since I’ll be away for a couple of weeks of June. That said, Part 3 should do the trick. I’ll post a photo of my sad, sad build this weekend.

Here is my Trumpeter 01507 Sd.Kfz 7 late version that is essentially done. The only thing I have left is to blend the vehicle and the base a bit more and add some cargo. I have some fuel drums ready and a load of jerry cans that need paint and weathering. Also working on a solution for the cab and cargo covers.

If I have something that fits I may add a figure but those take me a long time. Also may take a final set of pics under better lighting as I can’t see the wash I applied in these photos.

After looking at the parts I felt that they needed to be washed, so some dish soap and a hot water rinse did the trick

It’s going together nicely

Stevie that looks like it’s coming together!

I finished my own build of the magnet sweeper, so the road to the finish can be made safe!

Looks great that bar must weigh a ton like the weathering and colouring on the bar.

Thanks! I assume the box held electromagnets, as there was a wire going up to the engine. Not sure how many or how heavy they’d be, but the extra width must have taken some getting used to!
