Gimme Some LUVin' Group Build

Another character arrived for my proposed build today.

Just need to find the Masterbox WW2 British tank crew set which included a Bedouin riding a camel (probably in a box in the attic). I’ve got an idea to give him a rifle and make him part of the Arab Revolution liaising with the Ford crew.

This should qualify, right?

I see you didn’t get an answer to this question. My guess is that it would really be too big, it seems more like a scout type. I’m not running the campaign so we will have to see what our leader has to say.

@brekinapez . Sorry mate. I have been overseas and only just come back this evening. I was unable to log in to Armorama for some reason whilst I was away, so I have been unable to respond.

The general premise of this build is for any vehicle that is used in a utilitarian role, that is similar in concept to a Jeep - a light passenger come utility use vehicle, that is small enough to fit comfortably in a standard car parking space!

The Mercedes-Benz Type 170 VK was meant to be a passenger vehicle expressly for the military, but was also used as a radio car, a camera crew vehicle and sundry other purposes (even a maintenance vehicle). It is classed as a light passenger car, unlike the Horch and Steyr which are medium/heavy passenger cars, so I am going to consider this acceptable for the build.

Welcome aboard.

Thanks. This only one of two Master Box kits I have so this will be my first experience with one of theirs. Looks okay in the box.

But then so did my Alan Bison I kit.

I am in! Thinking one of the 1/48 kits to go with a plane in a diorama.

Welcome aboard Jesper.

Wow, 1/48 with this size subject is almost brail scale.

Indeed, Greg. Very small models, but thinking of Tamiya kits there will (hopefully) still be some crisp details.

Here are a couple of kubelwagens in 1/48 I build some years ago. Indeed tiny :slightly_smiling_face:

For this campaign I am considering different options :slightly_smiling_face:

I built the Citroen 11CV Jesper. I cut each of the widows out of the one piece mould thinking it would look better that way. I got an etch set for it too, with grill, pedals, etc. In the end, it was not worth adding the extras - even the open grill did not add anything. I now wish I had just built it OOB.

Enjoy the build/s.

Here is my entry. A Meng Jeep and a 1/4 ton crew set.
I have some PE for the Tamiya kit so it might fit.

I was going to be sarcastic about Tamiya’s schwimmwagen entry having so few parts until I looked in the Meng kit. Decided that I was in the same boat so I thought I better to sit quietly down before I put my foot in my mouth.

Welcome.

The pe might not be a drop fit but close enough. I liked the Meng kit as I recall. Mine is stalled at the painting stage.

Thanks for the insights, Peter. I have build a number of these Tamiya 1/48 kits and they are all super nice and Well detailed. I also expect to go OOB.

You have time to enter and complete the unfinished business campaign. Just turning grapes to wine.

Cool. I have seen the Finemolds one made up. One of the guys in my club loves Japanese WW2 kits.

Well? Change of plans. Since I started this too early (reading is essential); I’ve already finished my build before the group build even started, I’ll change the kit from the Schwimwagen to a Tamiya M151A1 Vietnam War version with some 3D printed upgrade parts from @Petition2God.
