Hi mates, I’m going to start my entry soon, the SH-60 Seahawk, straigt OOB.
Confusing paint instructions. The instructions says black blades with yellow rail rotor tips. The back of the box shows Olive Drab main rotor blades with red tips and black tail rotor with red-white-red stripe tips. Ugh.
I would have to dig around, many times the blades were different colors on the top and bottom. The squadrons sometimes painted different colors on the tip and mid to spot from above depending on the year.
I guess I should just chill out and pick something and enjoy the build.
Still no “Going” button for this campaign?
it seems to be an issue that other campaigns have as well but you are welcome to join, simply start building a kit and post your progress.
Painting the interior parts, many of which are still on the sprue.
“Going” button added.
Going button used
I really love those new 1/35 Apache helicopters… but have one slightly smaller
Being on the campsite I brought some small stuff along to do a bit of building every now and than… painting will have to wait untill I get home again. Which means I will have to do this in paintable parts…
So, an Apache in 1/144 by Revell is what it is going to be… see if I like this enough to buy it’s bigger brother later…
Link to going button please.
Button is in post 1 of this thread
Still learning the site🙃
More painting progress on the AH-6. Flat Black was added to the intake opening.
Gunmetal was applied to rotor gear.
Next up will be Olive Drab.
forgot I did the IDF Apache for this … have hit the going button as well …
First coat of Olive Drab. Another coat will follow. After that, assembly will continue.
Drilled holes in the fuselage for mounting the armament. However, there are two holes: one for the rocket pods and one for the TOW launchers. So, I had to fill one. The fuselage halves need another coat of Olive Drab. Need to paint the rotors.
Also glued the rocket pods together. The ends will need careful paint for the rocket tips (Gunmetal? White?) and the exhaust (Flat Black). Glued the FLIR turret and the T-Tail.
More parts removed from the sprue and cleaned up. Cockpit rear bulkhead added to the rest.
bit of color on the little one… helicopter halves pressed together to fit the cockpit in, not glued together yet…
Blades painted and T-Tail end plates glued on.
How about this for a helicopter idea…
