Started to mask the decks so I can spray the hull and deck houses. I’ll end up spending more time masking than painting

Starting to put together some sub-assemblies so they can be painted. Can you sat TINY!! parts

TINY parts!

Looking forward to see more

Very, very, wee.

Getting decals on the Meng F/A-18F:

So far the only issues are that the Furball decals tend to want to stick where you put them, so lots of water is advised. And they are probably sized for the Hasegawa kit, so some matching yellow paint will be needed.

With my Land of the Rising Sun Campaign build complete, I was able to take the time to complete my Border Models Tiger 1.

I am glad its done, this was not a fun kit to build but ended up looking like a Tiger so all’s well that ends well.

I don’t usually paint figures but happy how he came out. I promise the edge highlights are less blue in proper light :stuck_out_tongue:

Thank you for the campaign. Looking forward to the 2023 one!

Congrats on finishing, Rory. Some kits just fight you every step of the way. Glad that you stuck with it and got a great result!

Very nice, Peter!

I’m slowly getting decals on the Meng F/A-18F, but have some concerns about the amount of time left what with the rest of the decals, landing gear, things-under-wings, etc. Anyway, on Father’s day in June this year my kids gave me this kit:

I am not normally a 72nd scale builder, but I do kind of like doing the same aircraft in several scales sometimes, and I have a 1/32 conversion already finished, and anyone here who knows me knows about my obession with Israeli subjects. Also, these new Eduard kits are really nice. Anyway, I’ve made a start on it and found it goes together nicely and quickly, with excellent detail:

While there’s more to build on this one than the F/A-18, there are a lot less decals and tricky painting, so I may go with finishing this one up for the campaign (to go with Peter’s).

Excellent Michael! One has to love this Avia kit, it was a joy build for me and probably the best this year. Good luck, no problem to finish it in time, you’ll see.

Well, here’s the Eduard 1/72 Avia S-199:

I used AK air and tried to thin it with Gunze Mr. Thinner, which works great with their normal paints. It seemed to me like it went down rather thick and gloopy, but it seems to have settled down nicely.

Can I get it done in time? We shall see…
