Hot Out Of The Molds 2024

My D-21A UAV is finished !

Assembly was fast, the instructions precise and the only difficulty I encountered was getting the wing/fuselage junction clean.

@FlyingSauerkraut , Beautiful UAV! The metallic finish is great!

@Klaus-Adler, very nicely done on the figures! Not easy to make relatively small figures in monotone colors interesting to the eye, but you surely managed. :+1:t2::slightly_smiling_face:

Congrats on finishing! :muscle:t2::sunglasses:

thanks for those lind words, they were a fun build compared to the sherman flail tank I’m working on.

Flammpanzer 38(t) is effectively done; just need to touch up the base to better blend the tracks into the grass and seal everything up.

Still going to start the IBG Pz. II b but I won’t guarantee it being done in time.

Great job on the hetzer! I see What you mean on the Ground work - it “floats” a bit in the grass.

Congrats on finishing! It looks great. :+1:t2::slightly_smiling_face:

I was afraid if I tightened it down too much I might snap something.

I just changed from “Interested” to “Going” now that I’m wrapping up the “Sci-Fi Campaign X.”

I’m going to build ICM’s 1/16 Ukraine’s “Soldier of the Armed Forces.” It was released in February 2023.

I intend to add some resin aftermarket items to the figure to make it somewhat light Sci-Fi as I don’t intend to make it represent the Ukraine War. I’ll post a photo of the kit’s box art later before I start building.

Nice choice, Peter! Looking forward to see more of this kit and hear your opinion.

If the figure scales are the same, I hope to kitbash a semi-Sci-Fi figure with spare parts from various vendors for this campaign. It worked and here are the results:

  • 1/16 Legend Productions maritime SEAL MICH helmet
  • 1/16 Airborne Miniatures head
  • 1/16 ICM “Soldier of Ukraine” body, arms, and legs
  • 1/16 gear from Legend Productions, Airborne Miniatures, and ICM (Three radios, various storage pouches, three grenade pouches, medical scissors, two smoke grenades, and a knife).
  • 1/16 Sci-Fi gun 3-D printed from @MikeyBugs

I still need to do some putty filling on the gaps before I wash and prime the figure.

It’s intended to be a medium assault soldier to guard the Stargate (SG1) room on Earth against any uninvited and unauthorized alien intrusions through the portal, and also to enter the Stargate to reinforce as Calvary if the scouting away team gets into trouble and calls for backup, hence the huge Sci-Fi gun using alien technology (and not a 5.56mm or 7.62mm rifle or carbine).

Looking great, Peter!

I have finished my figures for the campaign. All Star Wars Legion figures in roughly 1/48 scale.

Two versions of Yoda as well as the fifth brother and seventh sister.

Washed and primed.

I bought a set of AK Markers so I’m going to try them for some drawn camouflage patterns.

I have a set of the German cockpit colors coming today. Planning on using them on my He 219 for the squiggles.

Okay, I am considering the IBG Pz.Kpfw II Ausf. b done as well, so that knocks two kits off the to-do pile.

I just need to check for any needed touch-ups and a sealing coat. Would you believe I knocked it off the shelf before the tracks went on, and it survived a three foot drop with only the rear fenders and one smoke unit needing re-attachment?

Looking great! Nice dusty summer 1941 look to it.

Well done! :+1:t2::sunglasses:

Here is my 1/16 “Hot Off the Molds 2024” ICM Ukrainian figure with kitbashed Airborne Miniature parts. The camouflage and helmet were entirely “painted” with AK Real Color Markers.

As you can see, the markers can’t get into every nook and cranny like the tip of a brush, but they are very fast and effective in drawing in the camouflage pattern. I still need to draw in the black dots and splotches with the AK black marker.

Looking Great, Peter.

I am also experimenting with the markers. They ok, but you cannot control the flow paint - the tip is always loaded the same way.

Looking forward to see more :slightly_smiling_face:

Takom Jagdpanzer 38 Late

In yet another attempt to break out of my model building funk, I started this model earlier today. All parts were washed a couple months back. So far, two hours were spent assembling the lower hull. My only goals are to gain some painting practice with my new airbrush and finish on time.

I did not plan on joining any more campaigns in 2024 because of my failure rate but maybe three months is enough time. The complex camouflage scheme worries me but Blu-Tac should be sufficient for all the masking.
