I failed to start last time, but hopefully this time I’ll get it going! I fancy one of those Sherman-based ambulances so it’ll be a big old kitbash…
Now that I would like to see!
Well I’m a maybe for now, my build rate is not great and I have several campaigns already signed up for. If I do get the time and motivation then I have several victims waiting:
Takom Merkava IIB
Miniart Tiran 4 w/dozer
Trumpeter Tiran 6
AFV Club Magach 6B
Or
Meng Achzarit early
After much poking around in the stash, I decided to go with something I’ve been itching to do anyway: AFV Club’s Sho’t Kal Gimel, with a little bit of AM.

Not in the picture are the tracks, metal indie links from China, no-name eBay specials.
I have more in the pic than I’ll probably use, but it’s always nice to have options.
They’re all fantastic, but the D9R has a particular charm.
ok good!
As I’ve really enjoyed last years edition, I’ll join this years again.
I will try and make this one:
No AM, so a straight forward build.
A few photos from the last few days, the turret assembly is finished, as are the body and tracks.
All that’s left are the mudguards.
I had to modify the kit a little: the only option is to fit it with the crossing tail.
I’ve found a solution for the spare roller and I’ve still got to recreate the towing brackets.
Got the glass masked and installed, guns and upperstructure are not glued on yet for easier painting..
Bit late to the start on this … Ok … I missed it completely
Only just started this Merkava …
Not even glued anything yet …
Am doing a separate build thread for it here
Will update here as well
and Bert @bwilt - that Namer is looking great
Mudgards were a bit thick so decided to replace them with some foil…
But you can’t replace only those rear ones… you’ve got to do them all…
Added some details..
Put the slat armour in place..
And all the sub assemblies added, not glued though…
The Namer is looking superb Bert … great detailing
Thanks!!
The Namer kit looks really good, lots of well done detail. Seeing that it goes together well is good too.
