Lots of very interesting builds going on.
I’m going to join in with Special Hobby’s Super Mystere.
Plastic looks good and has lots of ordnance to choose from. Should be a fun build.

Started another IDF kit…
Little bit of detailing, but doubt if anyone will notice once the wheels are on…
Coming along nicely..
Good choices, guys!
NOT going to be political (see warning, above), but given current events, I think it’s only proper for me to revert to my original choice for this campaign:
My only planned aftermarket are a pair of Quickboost seats and a mask for the eagle head on the tail. Fun story about that latter. GWH does provide a decal for that, but the head is supposed to be painted in the sand camo color, FS 33531 and (according to Ra’anan Weiss, who should know) gunshp gray 36118. The decal doesn’t even come close, and will look weird next to the sand paint. IsraDecal masks to the rescue! I ordered from a reliable online store here in the States and got this:
Sigh. Two masks for the starboard side, none for the port side. An email to Mr. Weiss brought a prompt reply and a somewhat slower delivery (fully understandable) of a correct set. Glad I ordered early! So, now ready to start:
Michael
I’ve always wanted to build that kit, looking forward to seeing how the build goes!
This is one of those kits I sercretly swoon over. One day…
Looking forward to the journey.
Hope you can find one. I’ve got to get a few other things finished up before I make a start on it. I will be finishing it though as a Yom Kippur War aircraft. Somewhere I have an old Airfix one I want to do I want to do in 6-Day War colours. That one has the early short jet pipe so best used for that era I think.
Fine choice, I loved it, when I built it. Fitting was as good as Tamiya.
Have fun!
Peter
Thanks, that’s great to know. Special Hobby’s new kits do look fantastic. I’ve got their Mirage IIICJ and F1 to do.
For armament I’m thinking of going with the quad bomb rack under the wings and Shafrir missiles. I do find myself drawn towards more unusual loads like that.
Looks great Bert. Its a big old chunky kit, with lovely detailing.
Thanks! I did read that build blog by Olivier before I started to see if there were any special things to look out for but so far nothing wrong with this kit, and indeed, lots of nice little details to work with
Great work, @bwilt!
Can you post this link?
Tks
Thanks!
Applied anti slip to the upper hull and upper/ sides of the turret.
Used aquarium fine sand and in the end, neat PVA glue applied with a fine detail brush and sand sprinkled over. This was done over stages and sand added in any flat spots. Some areas remain anti slip free as per the real deal, or a bit patchy in certain areas.
Looks great! Did you do the train modeller’s trick of adding diluted PVA afterwards from a pipette to ensure a good grip on the sand? (That’s how I used to secure track ballast - neat PVA with ballast sprinkled on, followed up with thinned PVA to flow into it and give a good bond…)
Thanks Tom. No, I didnt bother with very diluted PVA. I have seen it done but dont think Its needed here. I wont be handling it much now until I do the base coat of paint, and that will give it the final seal.
