Got some more cockpit painting and detailing done. Photo etch seatbelts look really nice but I still don’t like using PE. Got the cockpit done and installed with fuselage halves joined up.
Definitely not the fit you were looking for ![]()
To reduce the step I decided to widen or raise the wing. I mixed up some Milliput and stuffed that into the wing along with some bits of spruce. This seems to have done the job. I’m sure I’ll need some putty and sanding to finish it off but so far I’m pleased with the results.
Nice fix ![]()
I second that - Nice fix.
Clever solution
looks good
Agree, good fix.
I put on some tape to protect the details and started sanding with a 400 grit sanding sponge. Got to this point.
I will continue sanding using higher grits to finish this off.
That is a big difference to what it was, well done ![]()

Great fix…. Looks very good now.
Continuing with the “Mule”, I sanded the fuselage and re-scribed some panel lines, I added the humps onto the wings and sanded the edges to blend them into the wings
I added some Mr. Surfacer 1000 to some gaps and also to fill some incorrect panel lines on the engine cowlings and then turned my attention to the gun pods that go under the wings. They come with plastic cannon barrels so I cut them off and inserted brass tubing instead.
Great builds Bert and adding those figures really gives each vehicle a nice sense of scale, and adds a bit more to the story ![]()
Thanks very much!
Great finish Bert. I fully second Johnny’s comment about the figures.
Now it’s time for me to enter this campaign. My entry is the AFV Club M109A2 Doher. Plenty of sprues and parts of course, rubber band tracks, a small PE plate and a nice poster of the boxart.
The box has been open yesterday. It is stuffed with sprues from 4 different references. Only 2 are specially designed for the Doher plus the PE plate.
After a quick look at the instructions, I discovered a goof by AFV Club. To use the generic sides of the hull, AFV Club ask you to drill several holes inside the sides parts to position the rails which are bolted to them.
The problem is AFV Club did not cast any marks.
I think the best to do is let the parts without the holes and when time comes remove the positioning pins from the rails and other details. It should not be that hard.

Nice work, everyone!
Meanwhile, look what landed on my doorstep:
Uh oh. Well, given that I seem to have lost my mojo on the F-15I, maybe this will perk things up!
