Not sure about Nagmachons but there are no Magachs in service.
@Frenchy - Looks like the first Eitan pic from this operation. Thanks for posting it !
You’re welcome

Driver of car makes a U turn with a IDF tank in front of him.
Wrong place, wrong time.
Bet the check under wear light came on.
FWIW - The guys in this car that appeared to be taking the video are foolhardy.Roll around Gaza pointing a big lens out a car window that could be mistaken for a weapon in a hot zone.
Not to mention just rolling towards the IDF easily can be mistaken for a VBIED.
And the IDF can be a little protective about secrets; for example, the Pereh being retired before any images appeared in public. And deployment, identity of troops in the field being protected, too.
Thanks for this info. Would I be right in saying all the Droid systems have been removed, force-wide?
Ive not seen any IDF vehicles carrying them at all since this began, did they just standardise on Trophy? Ive got a Nagmachon build ongoing and judging by the references I’ve seen, I need to omit the Droid. Nagmachons dont have Trophy so was the Droid system replaced with anything or just removed?
The Droid system was never officially acknowledged so there is no information about it or it’s deployment.
For this operation I don’t think it matters because it seems as Nagmachons are no longer used but at their last days the Droid was in fact used on them.
Many thanks.
I’m doing a Gaza diorama. Sloped rocky ground, scrubby bits of bushes and clumps of grass, shell casings and boulders. Four IDF vehicles clustered around similarly to the pics we saw above. Merk IV with the mine-roller (completed and sat in my display cabinet, was just waiting for something to do with it, might remove the Droid system…)
Meng Trophy Namer parked up close by and the late doghouse Nagmachon I’m working on at the moment also close by. Crews stood around, ammo being loaded, Bergens and hydro packs all around, lots of stowage, no doubt they are going off into Gaza soon.
Might have to use some artistic license as if you say its been removed from service then perhaps the Nagmachon shouldn’t be there. Might there still be some active in reserve units?
Looks good - the Nagmachon should definately not be there.
Interested to know how you achieved the weathered affect on the armour?
Possible suicide car loaded down with explosives in the rear? Blacked out windows?
Looks sketchy as hell to me, no wonder the tank blasted it but that’s an easy way to lose the information war.
Anyway, to model a rolling bomb car, one should probably chop the rear springs, lower the rear and black out the windows.
Cheers Roly, its not really one effect but a mix of several if that makes sense. I used a Sinai Grey base coat and lightened it with dark yellow to do mottling on the flat surfaces, and with lJN Cockpit green to do the edge highlighting, last shade was done with a drybrushing effect. There are a few different raw pigments gently rubbed into it, Ive used a enamel dust effect in patches too, and also drybrushed in the extreme edges with deck tan. I like to use different colours of panel liner as well as I quite like the effect - in this case it was black all over, then certain areas picked out with a grey panel liner and others in brown. I kept the rain and grime streaking mainly to the side skirts and a little bit on the glacis.
I think the intention was not to have too uniform an effect, I like the look of the different parts having subtly different colours to the point where it isnt just grey its sand, its green, its brown, its green etc. I quite like that. I’ve never done an IDF vehicle before so it was a voyage of discovery.
I really enjoyed doing the tarps on it, they were so well molded. I loved this build btw, I see you enjoyed your recent Meng Merk too.
I found out later that some of the grab handles are picked out in red in some vehicles and I still think I could have gone a bit lighter on the turret detail, Droid section etc. Its still a WIP i think as I need to take a couple of links out of the tracks and tidy the figures up, still needs the aerials adding (i have three cats so its a waiting game for their discarded whiskers) maybe add some more lighter pigments etc but its there or thereabouts. Thanks for your nice comments.
Anyone build the Meng D9R? Is it any good? Would you recommmend?
