Sci-Fi and Alternative History Campaign IX

Ground work looks neat… Nicely positioned so it flows …

They are a great addition… Looks so much more realistic than just a flat wall… Nice idea :+1:

Hello all,
I moved a couple of small steps for mankind closer to the launch pad.

I added four additional rivet rows (double staggered) to fill-out the empty spaces between the portholes. BTW: The hatch/door is temporarily tacked on with Microscale LiquiTape (MI-10).

Also added two rivet rows (double parallel) to the ‘KLAW’ cover’ — just enough to break up the monotony.

Then Rosie went really nuts by riveting several rows (double parallel) to the inside of the folding bomb bay door (addicting!). The plan is to paint this panel with yellow/black caution stripes: KEIN SCHRITT (NO STEP).

Lastly, I sprayed the ‘KLAW’ with my special mix from the mustard jar… Vallejo Deep Yellow (70.915) plus a dab of Vallejo Flat Brown (70.984). If I squint my vision it’s close, but I think it still needs just a skosh more yellow and some Gloss Varnish in order to match the ‘Caterpillar Yellow.’

Klaw is looking … very Klaw like  but exceptionally good !! The rivets are adding so much great detail. They have totally transformed the look of those areas … great use of them :+1:

That Klaw looks to be a great match to the Cat Mike. Watch out for the power of rivets - they are a sneaky and sinister addiction. When you decide that your coffee mug needs rivets, that’s when you know you need help. Seek a local RA chapter.

Gaz, the base is coming along very nicely! I am sure it will look great with the height difference in terrain.

Mike, beautiful work with the rivets. These are 3D rivets used like the cockpit 3D interiors for aircraft?

I’m working on the wingy things and the base at the moment but i hope to have it all finished at the weekend.

The red colour alone looks really good and appears to have gone down very well and nice and uniform.

yeah it took about 3-4 coats of tamiya xf-7 for it to come out the way i wanted.
