It is if the scheme is sufficiently different from any actually worn by East German aircraft. It could be a preserved post reunification aircraft painted in a “commemorative” scheme, similar to the JG 71 “Black Tulip” fighters (like Erich Hartmann’s own Canadair Sabre)…
I am to plan my works for 2026 and interested in two campaigns. As lesson learnt in 2025 (failing 2 of 3 goals), I must have a better time management process to progress with the builds.
I already have a slew of Trek subjects assigned to the Trek 60 campaign but I just got the 1/72 Eagle transporter with the lab pod and boosters and I have a Perfect Grade Falcon and Slave 1 in my Wars stash.
Count me in here team! After a long layoff from building I’m back in business and one of the projects I want to invest some effort in is my WIP from a couple of years back":
I will drag it out and post some images of where it’s at, plus throw up some ideas for a base, and would really appreciate some feedback and input from everybody here.
I will participate with this kit. Actually did some work on it a good half year ago but lost the vibe after some steps, so it is still under 20% status. The engine part is started, added the main front part and glued the body halves. Still a lot to do on the assembly and I did not decide yet the livery.
My plan is to add (scratchbuild) some extra details, extra scribing of the panel lines and add some screwheads to the vehicle as it is “very Revell” (means lacking fine details to my taste). Also have a strange idea to add a twist but as I still face some uncertainties, let me describe in a later phase of building.
i have started today on a very snowy saturday with my Messerschmitt 626 Triplane , all parts are taken from the standard Revell kit in 1:72 . I made a sketching and a complete concept, draw a rig for the construction and got the fuselage half together , some parts of the wings and the engines ( 4-engine version ).
Everything received little changes from the standard kit, the (coming) “main problem” will be a little tricky .
Scratch build “Mouse Thing” - Here’s where it’s at now. I primed everything in Black to unify the base, then did a test spray of MS1500 Mohogany on part of the body. I’m thinking about a Sand colour overall with some lines or blotches of Green, like an Italian WWII aircraft scheme. This will match the base I’m planning on as well.
I’ve made a lot of parts for the wings; in total, I used four Me 262 kits for the triplane. The glue joints need to cure completely before I can continue.
I built a suitable jig out of cardboard to ensure the correct alignment of all the wings and engines.
I made the fuselage narrower, which automatically corrected the dihedral angle of the wings, but that didn’t seem right for a triplane i think.
I think you just mean that part in the middle, it just needs to be cutted later. Instead of putty i use parts of sheet to fill some gaps, and the glue was not hard enough for sanding there.
And yes, i make a lot of Sketches before the build, and if you like to see it i will take a picture .
Different versions of the top wing, using only original parts.
Today i modified the gunner, it’s a little bit like Frankenstein, but in the end he looks very chilled in his open gun station. ( Fine work and sanding is needed later, i know ) .
