Awesome!
Yes, a real beauty!!
I know you wanted to make some toonish Calipe rockets to go with the toonish look of the tank. How’s the progress on that?
I have the rockets. I’ll need to modify one as the “launched” rocket (minor surgery). Minor mod to the others, paint, and decide just HOW I want to show the rocket firing. And of course, put it on a small, simple dio.
I’ll get back to that after I finish two other campaign builds that end this year.
Mike
Some clear rod behind the rocket and propped inside the tube with some round styrene; and dressed up with some cotton to simulate the smoke.
If you really want cartoonish, how about a big spring with a gloved hand on the end, pushing the rocket out? Think Bugs Bunny or Road Runner…
I was thinking a rocket with a mean face and a toothy grin. Or like the Bullet Bill, in the Mario Bros. video games.
I am calling my M50 done. added the final weathering, lost some guideteeth along the way and I no longer feel like fighting this one.
I achieved what I set out to do; add a blue Sherman to the collection.
That is a nice camo! And will stand out for sure.
I do not recall, is that an A4 hull?
Beautiful SLA M50. Well done.
I think so, yes.
Very nice work!
Nicely done Wade. Looks sharp.
Excellent work Wade. Beautiful Sherman. When’s your next one?
Erwin, Johnny & Matt, thank you!
Need to wrap the Tiger build for the Great One campaign, the Meng Leo IA3 & finish that 30 year old Pz IV J before starting another kit. Probably next Sherman build will be in December on the road again.
Meng’s M4A3E2 Jumbo or RFM’s M4A3E8 are at the top of the Sherman want to build list. However, Tamiya’s Sherman M51 or M4A3E8 maybe easier for a first HVSS Sherman.
The build stirred an interest in building western AFV’s. I appreciate the help and suggestions, thanks to @Jakko (thank you), I even learned where the fuel filler caps are on a Sherman!
Wade, at your skill level I assure you, you can jump into either the Meng or RFM kit without any problems from the suspensions, or anything else for that matter. Both kits are very straightforward and assemble without any hiccups. They practically fall together with no putty.
You’re a real die hard, aren’t you?
Hey, I had all of these resin parts so I might as well use them Of course, not that long after I had decided what I wanted to do with them — which was sometime last spring or so — Asuka announced an M4A3 (105 mm) kit that should make it far easier to build what I’m attempting here by just swapping the engine deck and hull rear and making some other detail changes. I have to try and make stuff fit together that was never intended to …
