For all of those followers that had the patience to spend almost a year each for the two models that I created for the Battleship New Jersey Museum & Memorial (16" and 5" gun systems), my next (and final) major project for the ship has now begun. This one is as challenging (maybe more) the either the 16" or 5" turrets on display in the ship.

I really didn’t know if I could pull this one off. The jury’s still out, but it’s looking pretty good at this point. I’m about 95% complete on all the drawing tasks and about 90% on the printing. Paint and assembly haven’t started in earnest, although I have primed a few parts.

This is some, not all, of what’s been created so far.

And like the others, I had to learn how to do new things to make it all work.

This gives you another reason to visit the ship sometime later in the year. Probably should be done the model around September.
