And I worked at the M36 Jackson. It’s the old Tamiya kit from the 70ies. So I need some after sale parts like the cannon (Aber) and the tracks (AFV). The kit was good and easy to build. I need to add some details like the reling and the periskops. I know, this kind of periskops wasn’t at the M36 hull. But without the new ones, the hull looks weired. Also I added a Cal 30 to the turret. The Cal 50 is a new one from Academy.
With triple-digit F° heat & humility, I haven’t been very motivated to sit at my workbench lately. … When I had a short spark of energy the other day, I got to it and sprayed the under-belly of the Ju 88A-4.
Since I was spraying over Tamiya Grey Primer, it was hard to tell if I was getting any coverage. After a couple of days curing, and depending on the light (and my mood), I think it looks sorta’ like RLM65.
It is definitely based on it but there are differences; for $20 I took a shot and I think it’ll pass in the eyes of most of my visitors. It is meant for tabletop Sci-Fi games but the inspiration is painfully obvious. The only thing they sold that wasn’t more Space Opera/War Hammer looking.
Personally, I think it’s nice to see something so radically different on the tables, so well done Rabbits, nice work; a few more pics wouldn’t hurt mind (!)
Moving forward with the M548, I’ve got the bumper codes and Hazmat diamonds on, both covered up by the sand-blown weathering I’ve treated it to. The windshield is next and then there’s the bladders and pumping gear to fit and tie down.
Hi Richard, looks good. Although I’m pretty locked in to the ‘70’s and ODS era I’ve toyed with the idea of an earlier Wrecker.
What’s the build experience like so far?
Today’s outcome. Scratchbuilt 2 of the wiper arms that got lost, replaced some pioneer tools, weathered the windshield, touched up the front lights, then fitted the engine compartment cover and the M2’s ring.
I finished this about a week ago, and put some final images in the build thread, but this afternoon, decided the pictures warranted some sprucing up. I cut out the general background, and placed the builds in better context. And, as the server is a bit low on space, I’ll only show one of each truck:
