What the postman brought today (Armorama)

Nois!!! How large is it?

I have seen it reported as 60cm but it looks more like 75cm to me. I will measure tomorrow when the coast is clear. Not safe right now as it slipped into the sound undetected.

Yeah, you don’t want the passive Sonar to escalate to a depth charge barrage…

I will repeat myself, but this is my favorite part

Get some 30 cm rulers and leave them lying around in the mens rooms …

Thats the same scene in our house at Christmas when you find out relatives are coming to visit at short notice.

I put that on FaceBook with words to the same effect, and it was favourably received…

My model club used to hold a show as part of a big military vehicle gathering about 10 miles from the coast. One year a group of re-enactors turned up with a full-size replica U-boat conning tower and deck, all folded into a horse trailer for transport. They set up at the edge of the field and did their thing - by the end of the weekend they were mighty tired of comments like “you must have been going some to get it this far inland”…

My friend has this ringtone on his phone

Nice kit and figures Ryan! But how are you going to build it incognito?

Frank Dargies did this, albeit in 1/72

Hunker-down… Strategically place household camouflage, I.e. vacuum cleaner, lawn mower, hang wet laundry load, stack dirty dishes and buckets of SWMBO’s favorite wall paint color around workbench perimeter. Incorporate early warning device (dog… cats are useless). Avoid making gun, trumpet and tank blowup noises, play droning home improvement playlists instead. Avoid any unnecessary communication or small-talk. Avoid interrogation at all cost!

You’re welcome.

That’s easy - you can always claim that you have purchased it several years ago and only now it reaches the workbench…

Well first off, who builds.

But on the off chance it’s “soon”, you mean this old kit I have had forever. :sunglasses:

That is noice! I do have the Revell kit and some extras. Thinking about comparing details, especially under the deck that is open and building a false shell to account for seeing through kinda like CMK did. I thinking the diorama is more like normal sea life,
Bist du schon da? (Where are we? - blame google translator if not right) or words to that effect.

My current hang up is how to represent the wires bow and stern. Maybe like a shadow box and tie into the walls. Future me problems.

Got my first “Santa Claus” present(from me to me mode) today:

I’ve been searching for this kit since 2020 and finally found it(in neighboring Greece).
The Sturmboot 39 will enhance my Sd.Anh.108(Anhänger für Sturmboot) scratch build:

While the Gr. Flosssacks 36 and the wooden bridge will be used as truck loads in future planned builds.

Cheers,
Angel

That old chestnut.  I refuse to believe my Mrs is that daft to keep believing that.

Well - it works for me… At least for boardgames. When I bring a new one home I just need to say: Remember that project I’ve backed on Kickstarter couple of years ago? Well - this is it…
P.S. I’ve backed 2 projects on Kickstarter in my life
