These are typical 80’s Tamiya gardengnomes; soft on details.
Painting was kept simple: US uniform green for the overalls, black for helmets and accessoires and medium skintone for well… the skin.
Overalls; base colour, shadows base colour + bit of black, applied as a wash, highlights = drybrush with base colour + skintone.
Helmets; black + skintone mix, highlights = drybrush black + more skintone
Accessoires = pure black, highlight = drybrush with skintone.
Goggles = pure black with blue was on glass, finished with a drop of gloss varnish.
Skin = medium skin, followed by a brown wash.
1/12 Hasegawa “Real Figure: Soldier” with custom order 3D printed 1/12 Live-Resin pouches (gray resin) and 3D printed 1/12 ETSY radio and thigh holster (black resin).
Enlarged, the two 1/35 Live-Resin M4 magazine pouches appear empty in 1/12 scale, but I can’t tell. Nonetheless, she does have two MAGPUL M4 magazines on her backside and two 9mm handgun clips on her front. The large pouch on her back is for 40mm grenades, water, and other essentials.
Dissatisfied with the custom 3D printed 1/12 Live-Resin M4/M203 not having hollow barrels, I purchased a 1/12 TomyTec M4/M203 and I need to construct that.
I intend for her to be Lara Croft’s more heavily armed and equipped sister or cousin…
The Live-Resin pouches are indeed quite large because the 1/35 Live-Resin soldiers are quite beefy. So in 1/16 scale, the Live-Resin pouches appear 1/14 scale on her.
I do agree that the pouches may weigh her down, and I most likely didn’t select the best pouches from my custom order or arrange them in such a way to balance her load. With Gorilla Glue, there’s no way to debone once glued on.
Put the WW I British Infantry on hold until I can do some airbrushing. Will also be doing a pilot figure. This guy is from the 1/48 Monogram F-100 kit. He needed a butt job to sit better in the seat.
As promised a few pictures of the diorama with the figures.
The pilots are waiting to oversee the ground crew fueling and bombing up the Bf 109 water plane.
