Yes ! Great tutorial there and a good place to start for beginner figure painting, I love his armor too !
Being immortal they are married for a very, very long time…
“Now you listen up husband, 300 years ago you promised me…”
Probably
More or less the painting is completed. I need to add a base and then I’m calling this one complete.
I think I need to tone down the silky hair and boot gloss a bit.
I also just learned of the airbrushing black and white shading technique after I started painting this figure. I have to try that process for my next figure.
Good job.
Very cool! I forget, does she have a name?
@Tank_1812 Thanks!
I’ll agree with you about the hair, but I like the boots. Nicely done.
@justsendit Yes, she is “1/12 SOL Terra in Leather Jacket.” A resin figure from South Korea.
@Canmedic Thanks. I’ll paint her hair with Matt coat and hopefully that should do the trick.
I also found some paint bottles and I bought some new paints so I’ll retouch up here and there.
I’m waiting for her wooden plinth to arrive so I’m not calling this 100% complete yet.
Not much to show on my end. Just added some Sergeant stripes obtained from the “cool kids at Archer.”
‘Archer Fine Transfers (AR99017) US WWII Rank Insignia Patches’
No face paint just yet. I do know how to procrastinate.

More great stuff here. Everyone is killing it !
For anyone doing Ukrainian figures, more (non-typical) camo options:
Desert / Brown & Tan MultiCam
And what I think is one of the digital patterns from China?
@ Lazarus. Okay, how about 24 colors after face painting? Update to follow after proper planetary alignment and evaluation.

I have been reading along in this one, great tips… as I have done and will be doing quite a few figures for my IDF diorama thought I might as well join… pitures of my latest figures, as you can see built from several donors, being ancient Italeri, Tamiya and newer Miniart …
Primed, and now at this stage…
They will become Olive green… for the faces I have the AK set with those 5 shades…
Needless to say that any help and tips are welcome…
@bwilt love the uniforms on these guys. The highlights and shadows look great. For the 5 skin tones you have I’m assuming it’s the old ak interactive box with the military figures on the front. If so, i would use it from darkest to lightest. The first base being the dark red and then mix that with the next color in line. If you have a wet pallet use it as this will help with blending.
Bert that’s quite a nifty scene you’ve made! Not the most attractive view of the guy on the front though…
@Gregory_J_Copplin : Thanks, and that is indeed the AK set I have. I do have a wet palette, have been using that as well, but am still struggling getting the faces decent. Have tried it from dark to light, from llight to dark, from middel tones and adding dark and light… wil try the dark to light again.
@barkingdigger : Thanks, took a good bit of cutting, sanding and adjusting to get it like this. And the guy on front is actually a sitting guy but thought he would be nice to be bended over the engine… and he didn’t protest
Have you tried this technique by Lazarus?
Wow you've got a great figure! - #333 by Lazarus?
Yep, and every tehnique I could find on Youtube… had lots of practice, already did 16 figures in my LAV diorama… and at least 10 in my IDF diorama… but still think my faces can use a lot of improvement…
